Crafted in Cape Town. Designed to cross oceans.

Askari Yachts is a specialist aluminium yacht builder based in Cape Town, South Africa—the largest catamaran-building city in the world and a global leader in high-performance, ocean-going yacht construction.

Precision-crafted, performance-ready

From our facility in Montague Gardens, Askari Yachts designs and builds a limited range of custom aluminium yachts, engineered for long-range cruising, global adventure, and luxurious living at sea. Our signature vessels include the Askari 65 Power, a long-range cruiser, and a fleet of performance sailing catamarans, launching with the 55-foot model.

Every Askari yacht is constructed in marine-grade aluminium—a material that offers exceptional strength, reduced maintenance, long-term value, and design flexibility. Each build is fully customisable to suit the unique cruising style and onboard lifestyle of its owner.

A legacy of craftsmanship and seamanship

Askari Yachts is driven by a senior team of directors and managers with more than 85 years of combined experience in boatbuilding, global sailing, and marine operations. Having sailed extensively themselves and overseen the construction of countless vessels, the team understands what it takes to build yachts that are not only luxurious but also built to perform in the world’s toughest conditions—including those found off Cape Town’s famously rugged coast.

Design partnership with Du Toit Yacht Design

All Askari yachts are created in collaboration with Du Toit Yacht Design, one of the Southern Hemisphere’s most respected naval architecture studios. With more catamaran tonnage and metres designed than any other studio in the region, Du Toit Yacht Design brings decades of award-winning expertise to every Askari vessel—balancing hydrodynamic performance with beautiful, functional design.

Production led by experience

The production of every Askari yacht is overseen by James Felgate, a veteran South African boatbuilder with over 24 years of hands-on experience in yacht construction, systems integration, and catamaran manufacture. James brings technical expertise and practical insight to each stage of the build process, ensuring world-class execution from hull to the handover of the first Askari 65 Power to her new owners at the end of 2025.

Confidence at sea. Style in every detail.

Every Askari yacht reflects our unwavering commitment to strength, performance, and elegance. Whether you’re planning to cross oceans, explore remote anchorages, or simply cruise in comfort, Askari Yachts delivers the capability to go further—and the craftsmanship to enjoy every nautical mile.

Why aluminium? A modern choice for sustainable yacht building

Aluminium is one of the most progressive and environmentally responsible choices for yacht construction today. As a fully recyclable material, aluminium can be repurposed repeatedly without losing its inherent strength or structural integrity. In fact, a significant percentage of the world’s aluminium—particularly in buildings and marine applications—is recycled, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of each new structure or vessel.

Its environmental benefits are matched by its exceptional longevity. Aluminium yachts are known for their extended lifespan and reduced maintenance requirements, making them ideal for owners who value reliability and durability.

Beyond environmental impact, aluminium offers outstanding customisation potential. It can be easily adapted to suit the layout, systems, and functionality desired by each owner, allowing for a yacht that is truly bespoke.

In terms of safety, aluminium is fire resistant, giving owners added peace of mind during long-range cruising or while docked. Furthermore, aluminium yachts tend to hold their value well in the market, making them a sound investment for the long term.
